How to Complete an Immigration Assessment

Canada’s economic immigration system is based on minimum requirements and achieving a minimum score for your skills. Using an immigration points calculator will give you an idea of how your application will be received by IRCC.

It is essential that you complete the immigration assessment form completely and truthfully.

Once you have submitted the form you will receive a numerical score.

Understanding your Score

Your CRS score is out of 600. There are up to an additional 600 “bonus” points you can receive for major attributes such as a Provincial Nomination, Job Offer, Relative in Canada, or Work/Study Experience in Canada. In total, your score can up to 1200 points.

If you score above the IRCC monthly threshold, you will receive an invitation to apply (ITA). IRCC usually makes two cut-off scores per month. In 2018, the average cut-off score is 440, with the lowest being 422.
