As a permanent resident, you are not eligible to:

• Access some jobs that requires high-level security clearance

Time spent living in Canada

As a permanent resident, you can live and work outside Canada, but must live within Canada at least 2 years in every 5-year period. You may lose your permanent resident status if you live outside Canada longer than the residency requirement.
