Have your language test results, education details and work history ready. Answer each applicable question. All displayed questions are required.

Current job-offer rule: job offers add no CRS points. IRCC removed those points on March 25, 2025.

1About you

Use your current age. If you already received an invitation to apply, use your age on the invitation date.

2Your education

Count Canadian credentials or foreign credentials supported by a valid Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from an approved organization, issued within the last five years.

Choosing the right education level

For “two or more credentials”, at least one must be from a program of three years or longer. For foreign studies, each credential counted needs the required ECA. Eligible professional degrees are in medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry, law, chiropractic medicine or pharmacy.

Select Yes only if the Canadian study requirements below apply to your credential.

Check the Canadian study requirements

Your credential must be from an eligible Canadian institution located in Canada. Normally, you must have completed at least eight months of full-time study and been physically in Canada for at least eight months.

More than half the program must not be English or French as a second language. An award requiring you to return home after graduation does not qualify. Normally, a program with more than half completed by distance learning does not qualify for these additional points.

IRCC provides exceptions to the full-time, physical-presence and distance-learning rules for programs undertaken wholly or partly from March 1, 2020 to August 31, 2022. Check section 30 of the official instructions.

3Your language results

Results must be less than two years old. Use individual ability scores, not your overall or average score.

4Your work experience

Count paid work in the last 10 years in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3, full time or the equivalent in part-time work. You must have been physically in Canada, working for a Canadian employer, with authorization.

Which Canadian work can I count?

Generally, work while studying full time, self-employment and unauthorized work do not count. Count completed years and no more than 30 hours per week; overlapping jobs do not create extra years. Specific exemptions may apply to certain physicians. If this affects you, have your experience reviewed before relying on the result.

Count paid work outside Canada in the last 10 years in one or more NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupations, full time or the equivalent in part-time work. Do not count the same time twice.

This is a trade qualification issued by a competent provincial, territorial or federal authority, usually after assessment and an exam. It is different from a provincial nomination or a college diploma.

Job offers earn 0 CRS points under the rules effective March 25, 2025. They may still matter for program eligibility.

5Additional points

Select Yes only for an eligible nomination verified by the province or territory and accepted by you. An expression of interest, invitation from a province, or non-Express Entry nomination is not enough.

The sibling must live in Canada, be at least 18, and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Biological, adoptive and qualifying step-siblings count. More than one eligible sibling still earns a maximum of 15 points.

This calculator runs in your browser and does not submit your answers to Tudor House. It estimates CRS points; it does not assess eligibility for an immigration program.

How CRS points work

Your Express Entry score brings together four groups of factors. Core points cover age, education, language ability and Canadian work experience. An accompanying spouse can contribute points through their own credentials.

Skill transferability rewards specific combinations of education, language and work experience. Additional points can come from an accepted Express Entry nomination, eligible Canadian study, French-language ability or a qualifying sibling in Canada.

A Canadian citizen or permanent resident spouse, or a spouse who will not accompany you, uses the without-spouse grid.

Common questions

Express Entry CRS calculator FAQs

What is a CRS score?

The Comprehensive Ranking System ranks eligible Express Entry profiles using age, education, language results, work experience and other factors. The total is out of 1,200. This calculator estimates your points from the answers you enter; your official score is determined in your IRCC profile.

Is this the same as the 67-point eligibility test?

No. The Federal Skilled Worker 67-point selection grid is a separate eligibility assessment. CRS ranks candidates in the Express Entry pool. You may meet the Federal Skilled Worker threshold and still need a higher CRS score for an invitation. Use our 67 Points Calculator to explore that separate assessment.

What CRS score do I need for an invitation?

There is no single permanent cut-off. The score depends on the round, program or category, and IRCC’s tie-breaking rule. Meeting a previous cut-off does not guarantee a future invitation. Check IRCC’s official invitation rounds and confirm the requirements that apply to you.

Does a job offer or LMIA increase my CRS score?

Job offers no longer earn CRS points, following the change effective March 25, 2025. A job offer can still be relevant to eligibility for some immigration programs. This calculator therefore assigns zero CRS points to job offers.

How can I improve my Express Entry score?

Depending on your circumstances, stronger language results, French-language ability, additional eligible education, further qualifying work experience or an Express Entry provincial nomination may increase your points. Recalculate with realistic changes to compare scenarios, then review the documentation and eligibility requirements with a consultant.

How are spouses and common-law partners scored?

If your spouse or partner accompanies you and is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, different core-factor limits apply and their education, language and Canadian work can contribute up to 40 points. A non-accompanying spouse or a spouse who is already a Canadian citizen or permanent resident results in scoring under the without-spouse grid.

Can I use this instead of the government calculator?

This independent Tudor House tool is for planning. It uses the published CRS scoring rules and links to the sources below. It does not confirm program eligibility or guarantee an invitation. You can also compare your result with IRCC’s calculator; IRCC’s electronic system and governing instructions control the official result.
